How do you brew a Fruited Sour?

Sour beer? No, refreshing sour beer! That's what we aim for with a Sour. A beer that is exciting, thirst-quenching, and surprisingly drinkable. Our Fruited Sour Playlist is exactly such a beer: a fresh cross between sourness and fruit, with a swinging mango and apricot providing a full, natural fruitiness.
Where does the Fruited Sour come from?
The Fruited Sour is very much of the moment. Fresh, sour, and funky - exactly what we're looking for. It's a beer that sparks curiosity, invites tasting, and yet remains surprisingly drinkable. Perfect for an evening in with friends, or a quiet moment to yourself during the longer evenings.
How do you brew a Fruited Sour?
Usually, the beer is first lightly soured with lactobacillus, the lactic acid bacteria that also gives yogurt its freshness. This often happens in the kettle before primary fermentation (kettle souring). Then we add fruit, for example in the form of puree. For our Playlist Fruited Sour, we use real mango and apricot puree, so the fruitiness truly comes to life.
The goal? A refreshing sour beer with a robust fruitiness, where acids and fruit are balanced so that the end result remains clean, fruity, and refreshing, without becoming too sour or too sweet.

How does a Fruited Sour taste?
Don't expect a sickly sweet tropical bomb, nor a mouth-puckering sour trip. A good Fruited Sour is somewhere in between:
-
Sour and fresh, often with citrus notes.
-
Fruity, due to the apricot and mango puree.
-
Light, with a clean finish.
It's a beer that immediately grabs attention with the first sip, but its fresh and light style makes it surprisingly drinkable. Ideal for a long evening indoors, without feeling heavy.
Why should you try a Fruited Sour?
Because you're curious. Because you love fruity beers that have something exciting about them. Because on a long autumn or winter evening, you want a beer that is fresh and refreshing, yet easy to drink. So try our Playlist Fruited Sour, full of flavor with real mango and apricot puree. It's the perfect beer to enjoy indoors, as the evenings get longer and temperatures drop.
