By means of monthly hop drinks and a clear growth calendar, it is made easy for you to become a hop farmer. Jamie Nee, also known as the illustrator of the brewery's colorful labels, will lead the project.

City garden De Klopvaart is a stone's throw from the vandeStreek beer brewery. Hops were planted in this city garden in the 1970s in permaculture. After almost 50 years of proliferation, the vandeStreek beer team cultivated a number of plants in 2019 and, with the help of volunteers, laid out a real hop field.

Jamie Nee says: “I have been growing vegetables naturally for my own use for a while now. During the coming year I will share my knowledge about gardening, the importance of good soil and my love of hops with anyone who wants to participate!”

This year, VandeStreek beer is taking serious steps and, in collaboration with Hollands Hophuis, the hop field will potentially be as large as the whole of the Netherlands.

Carel Krol of Hollands Hophuis: “We have been working hard for several years to improve the image of European and Dutch hops. We are therefore closely following the VandeStreek beer Klophop project. When Sander came to us with the question whether we could support and advise for this KlopHop project, we immediately took action”.

The Klophop field in 2020 – this year it will be as big as the Netherlands!

Harvest Day is always fun.

The hop flowers that it's all about.
