Grow beer in your garden!
Our Own Hop Variety
Near the brewery lies our hop garden in Stadstuin Klopvaart, where for several years now we have been growing our own hop variety, the Klophop. However, we don't just cultivate Klophop ourselves! Every spring, we take cuttings from our garden and distribute over 2000 Klophop plants to hospitality businesses and beer lovers through our webshop, so that everyone can help plant the largest hop garden in the Netherlands.
Growing and Harvesting
Throughout the entire growing season, from May to September, we help all Klophop farmers turn their cuttings into full-grown hop plants laden with Klophop cones (the hop flowers used to brew beer). Learn handy tips and tricks for your hop plant or visit our hop garden and hear from our hop farmer what's best to do.
On September 16th and 17th, the traditional hop harvest month, we celebrate the most enjoyable and important part of the project: the harvest festival! Everyone brings their hop plant to the brewery where all the hop farmers gather to pick the hops together. Of course, while enjoying some fine beer. From all the collected hops, we eventually brew the Klophop beer – a lovely hoppy blond beer that you helped create!
