It is the middle of the winter and Ronald has traveled to the even colder Finland. Tampere to be precise, for brewing a collaboration with the fastest-growing craft beer brewer in the region: Pyynikin Käsityöläispanimo. Pyynikin is well-known for their delicious porters, their Amber Pale Ale (Ruby Jazz) and of course their hopped Sahti beers.
The concept was to brew a summer ale. We wanted to include both elements from our Dutch beers and something specifically Finnish. After some beers and discussions we decided to go for a blonde Summer Ale, with a large percentage of wheat malts in the mash, just like we do in Broeders. The Finnish share in the recipe was, on top of a lot of hops, some freshly picked Juniper branches.
This beer will not come to the Netherlands in large quantities and is brewed for the Finnish market.
